5 Signs Your SEO Company is not Up to Par

In today’s Internet-driven world, search engine optimization (SEO) is very important. The use of SEO helps businesses all over the world gain visibility online and places their products and services in front of their target audience. Because of the popularity of SEO, many businesses are using third-party SEO companies to help them implement a strong SEO strategy. While there are good SEO companies out there that know the right tactics to use to help your site become visible to your audience, there are others out there that are simply scamming you out of your money. It’s important to choose the right SEO company, and the following five signs will let you know when a company is not up to par.

  1. Their prices are too low or too high.
    Most legitimate SEO companies will be within the same price range as other legitimate SEO companies. If your SEO company has prices that are much lower than the other quotes you received, it’s likely they don’t offer the same quality work. Don’t assume you’re getting a bargain.

    The same goes for prices that are too high. It doesn’t mean the company is better than others—it means they’re out to get a bigger profit.

  2. There’s no communication.
    Good SEO companies will reach out to you on a regular basis to let you know how their tactics are being implemented and what success they’ve seen. If the company is hard to get in touch with, or if they never seem to call you back, it’s a bad sign.
  3. They make quick promises.
    SEO companies know that SEO takes time to implement and see results, and they need to research both your website and your industry in order to determine what tactics to implement. If the SEO company is promising you’ll see results within a short period of time, they’re not up to par.
  4. They lack references.
    It’s important to put your SEO in the hands of a trustworthy company, which is why you should always ask for references and contact those references. If a company does not provide you with references, they’re not up to par.
  5. They threaten you.
    If a company threatens to sabotage your site or ranking if you don’t comply with their demands, walk away. They’re lying, and you don’t need them.
